Is gastric perforation serious?

Gastric perforation is relatively serious, and if left untreated, it can easily cause severe abdominal infection and inflammatory shock, which may lead to the patient’s death. Most gastric perforations are caused by gastric ulcers, such as frequent overeating, eating too much spicy and stimulating food or drinking too much alcohol, as well as taking drugs that are irritating to the stomach and intestines, all of which are prone to gastric perforation, and if left untreated, may lead to a variety of complications, such as severe abdominal infection or even death. Therefore, the occurrence of gastric perforation needs to be promptly sent to the hospital for treatment. At this point, the patient’s body functions are already in trouble and extra care is needed. After the surgery, patients need to pay attention to the type of diet, mainly light and easy to digest food, and prohibit spicy and stimulating, cold food, so as not to affect the recovery of the body.
