Chinese yam has the effects of benefiting qi and nourishing yin (tonifying qi and yin), tonifying the spleen, lungs and kidneys, and stopping spermatorrhea. Clinically, Chinese yam is mainly used for the treatment of spleen deficiency with little food, tiredness and fatigue (fatigue and weakness), loose stools (thin and unformed feces) and diarrhea, lung deficiency with asthma and cough, kidney deficiency with spermatorrhea, dysuria and frequent urination, and internal heat and thirst (internal fever accompanied by symptoms such as overeating, excessive drinking, and excessive urination). Dampness in the center of fullness (dampness is too heavy to cause fullness and discomfort in the spleen and stomach) or solid evil, stagnation, people are prohibited to take yam. The adverse effects of Chinese yam are not known. Prompt medical attention is recommended in case of discomfort.
