Yogurt is not suitable for everyone

  Nowadays, many people like to drink yogurt, some people drink 1-2 cups a day, or even more, people generally believe that yogurt is good for health, but is this really true? According to my clinical observation, combined with the theoretical understanding of Chinese medicine, I believe that a considerable part of the population is not suitable for drinking yogurt.  Yogurt is made from fermented milk and contains probiotics, plus added sugar. Probiotics have the function of adjusting the intestinal flora, yogurt can provide the body with protein nutrition, and the sugar it contains can also provide the body with some heat, which is the beneficial aspect of yogurt for the human body.  However, we should also note that because yogurt contains sugar, it is not suitable for diabetic patients who have poor blood sugar control. According to Chinese medicine, sugar is sweet and cool in nature, and because of its cool nature, it has the effect of nourishing Yin and generating fluid, which is beneficial for people with insufficient stomach Yin and high stomach fire. The sweet taste into the spleen has a tonic effect, but eating more sweet taste will hinder the digestive function of the spleen and stomach. For some patients with heavy dampness, sweet taste can also encourage dampness, which is also inappropriate. Such people with heavy dampness are prone to abdominal distension, sticky and unpleasant stools, and white and thick tongue coating. As yogurt needs to maintain the activity of probiotics, it needs to be eaten cold. It is also not suitable for people with a cold spleen and stomach, who often suffer from indigestion, cold pain in the abdomen, loose stools and easy diarrhea when they eat cold food.  In general, two groups of people should not drink yogurt, one is people with a cold spleen and stomach, and the other is people with heavy dampness.
