What are the common skin diseases in infants?

Some children’s skin diseases are easy to diagnose, but very difficult to treat, such as eczema; some children’s conditions are aggressive, but if they get better, they are very easy to cure, such as infectious skin diseases.
Although the Department of Dermatology is small, it is not to be underestimated, and contains thousands of diseases. I remember a professor from abroad who knows deeply said that so far I have not been able to recite all the names of skin diseases, which is why the Department of Pediatrics of our hospital does not accept children with these skin diseases, and the Department of Dermatology of the Children’s Hospital is helpless to treat children with difficult and critical skin diseases.
  I. Etiology.
  1. Genetic factors.
  (1) There is a certain tendency of familial aggregation.
  (2) Epidemiological surveys show a clear correlation between the onset of pediatric morbidity and the allergic quality of their parents.
  (3) Twin studies show that the concordance rate of identical twins (77%) is greater than that of dizygotic twins (15%).
  2. Environmental factors.
  (1) Environmental allergens (house dust mites, pollen), climate, etc. influence the onset of the disease.
  (2) Allergen skin tests in patients can cause eczema-like skin reactions.
  (3) Infectious factors.
  4, food and drugs.
  II. Clinical manifestations.
1, 60% of cases develop within 1 year of age, usually after 2 months of life.
  2. pinhead-sized papules and papules on the basis of erythema on the cheek and face, densely packed into patches.
  3. vesicles, exudative damage and crusts are formed soon after scratching and rubbing
4, secondary damage and infection may occur.
5, the disease is sometimes severe and sometimes mild, and certain food or environmental factors can aggravate the disease.
  6. Generally, the disease gradually improves and heals within 2 years of age.
  Laboratory tests
Routine blood tests: increased eosinophils, increased IgE. In case of secondary infection, white blood cells may increase.
IV. Treatment, combination of internal medicine and external application.
  1. Pay attention to avoid allergic foods.
  2. pay attention to the detection of environmental factors that aggravate the disease and try to avoid them.
  3.Prevent secondary infections.
