General Surgery is for patients with confirmed early stage liver cancer, and these patients must be aggressively treated with surgery as early as possible once early stage liver cancer is identified, and surgery is within the scope of General Surgery. Other patients can register with the Department of Gastroenterology for some liver examinations, such as physical examination of the liver, palpation, observation of the presence of liver palm and spider nevus, as well as blood tests for biochemical and liver function, which can be analyzed by the changes of protein quantity and transaminases in liver function items. There is also ultrasonography of the liver to check for the development of lesions.
In addition to this, we can also take a biopsy of the nodules in the liver. The liver can be examined clinically, and patients with liver problems must be reviewed on a regular basis, both for liver function and hepatitis indicators, so that we can be aware of our health status and not forget to take care of our liver in our daily lives.
