Nasopharyngeal cancer patients in middle and late stages are generally more difficult to be cured completely, and the five-year survival rate of patients is about 30%~40%. Among patients with nasopharyngeal cancer, the proportion of intermediate and late stage patients is generally higher, which is mainly due to the fact that early nasopharyngeal cancer patients have very few symptoms, and some of them even have no symptoms in the early stage. For patients with middle and late stage nasopharyngeal cancer, the current treatment is a comprehensive treatment strategy mainly based on radiotherapy. Although it is more difficult to be cured completely, after active anti-tumor treatment, most of the patients in the middle stage and some of the patients in the late stage are still able to achieve clinical cure, which prolongs the survival time of the patients and improves their quality of life. Therefore, once diagnosed with middle or late-stage nasopharyngeal cancer, patients should actively give anti-tumor treatment and go to oncology department of hospital to receive standardized treatment as early as possible.
