Esophageal cancer is one of the more difficult malignant diseases to treat. The incidence of this disease is relatively high in China, and the mortality rate is high if the disease is at an advanced stage. The patient is in pain before dying, first of all due to difficulty in swallowing, which produces symptoms of chronic wasting disease, dehydration and loss of electrolytes. The patient loses weight rapidly and gradually suffers organ failure until cardiopulmonary failure and respiratory arrest.
If esophageal cancer metastases, patients are also likely to have pain that is temporarily relieved by morphine and other painkillers, but are likely to become dependent on these central painkillers. If high doses of this class of drugs are used, they are also likely to depress respiration, and death from respiratory failure will occur.
The main focus of this disease is early diagnosis and treatment. With the development of medical science, surgery and radiotherapy can greatly improve the survival rate of patients, and some patients can even achieve clinical cure. Therefore, it is recommended not to be too pessimistic and to be strong to face the disease.
