What’s going on with ferritin 151 in women

Female ferritin 151 is elevated in the normal range, if there are no symptoms, it can be observed and not treated for the time being. The normal range of ferritin in women is 18~160ng/ml, and 151 is elevated in the normal range. Increased ferritin can be seen in physiological and pathological conditions. Pathological conditions can be seen in excessive blood transfusion, fatty liver, chronic hepatitis, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, especially primary liver cancer, due to increased synthesis of ferritin by cancer cells, ferritin level can be abnormally elevated, and the degree of ferritin elevation reflects the severity of the disease. Physiological elevation of ferritin, mostly mild, can be seen in athletes who usually consume a lot of exercise, or excessive intake of iron-containing foods in the diet, which can cause high ferritin. In women, ferritin 151 is mostly considered to be physiologically elevated, and if there are no symptoms, it can be temporarily observed and does not require special treatment.
