What happens when the echogenicity of the liver is dense and diffusely enhanced in spots?

Intrahepatic echogenicity with punctate dense diffuse enhancement is likely to be caused by fatty liver. There are many clinical causes of fatty liver, such as hyperlipidemia, excessive obesity, malnutrition, improper weight loss, diabetes, etc. At present, with the development of China’s economy and the improvement of residents’ living standards, the incidence of fatty liver is also increasing. Although many patients do not have obvious clinical symptoms of fatty liver, some of the severe fatty liver can cause serious consequences, and even cirrhosis of the liver. Currently, the diagnosis of fatty liver is mainly made by liver ultrasound, which is the most commonly used clinical examination. Many diagnoses of fatty liver are mostly detected by ultrasound examination of the liver during health check-ups. Intrahepatic echogenicity in the form of dense diffuse enhancement in the liver is a typical manifestation of fatty liver on liver ultrasound. Ultrasound of the liver can also provide a preliminary determination of the severity of fatty liver and, if further liver CAP measurements are performed, a quantitative determination of steatosis can be made. Most of the fatty liver can be gradually improved by diet and exercise, as it is mild; some severe fatty liver may require reasonable clinical treatment.
