You can take antihypertensive medication before your post-stent review blood tests. After having stent surgery, you need to have a regular review, which includes blood tests, electrocardiogram, heart ultrasound and so on. If you are a patient with high blood pressure, you need to continue to take antihypertensive medication before having blood tests, and taking antihypertensive medication does not affect the indicators of blood tests. Blood tests include blood biochemistry, coagulation function, liver and kidney function. The routine blood test can find out the number of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Because of the need to take antiplatelet drugs after having stent surgery, it may have an impact on these indicators. Through the coagulation function test indicators can see whether there is a possibility of thrombosis or bleeding. Because stenting requires long-term medication, it may affect liver and kidney function, so the liver and kidney function need to be checked regularly after stenting. Blood will be drawn for the post-stenting review, which requires fasting, but if the patient has high blood pressure or diabetes, he/she will need to take the medication routinely every morning, and will not need to stop taking it. Note that a small amount of water (recommended no more than 100 ml) can be taken when taking medication, and will not affect the results of the fasting test program. However, it should be noted that the night before the review should be a light diet, at least 12 hours of fasting.
