Tendonitis in the index finger is not likely to heal on its own without treatment. Tendonitis in the index finger means that there is prolonged and frequent friction between the tendon sheath and the tendon, which causes local edema and eventually leads to the development of tendonitis in the index finger. Tendonitis of the index finger cannot heal on its own if the negative causes are not removed and treated. Even after strict conservative treatment of tendovaginitis, such as braking of the affected limb, microwave physiotherapy, and blood-stasis medication, some patients cannot be cured and eventually require closure therapy or even surgery. Therefore, tenosynovitis of the index finger cannot be cured by itself without any treatment.
