How long does a mammography take?

Mammography usually takes 10 to 20 minutes to do. Mammography is an examination performed by inserting an ultrafine optical fiber into the milk ducts. It is often used to examine patients with nipple discharge, to clarify the cause of the discharge, to help diagnose small lesions in the milk ducts, and to provide guidance for subsequent treatment. Typically, it takes 10 to 20 minutes to perform a lactoscopy of a single milk duct. The procedure involves the preparation of supplies, local anesthesia, and the insertion of an ultrafine fiber-optic guide fiber into the milk duct for observation. Patients may experience mild pain after the procedure, but it is usually well tolerated. It should be noted that people who are allergic to anesthetics, people with acute local inflammation or nipple infection, and people with severe cardiorespiratory insufficiency should not undergo mammography, and it is recommended that patients consult their doctors carefully before the examination.
