If the diameter of the cystic duct or the lower part of the bile duct does not fulfill the requirements, surgery is recommended. If a 0.8 cm stone is present in the gallbladder, it is usually impossible for the stone to be discharged from the gallbladder into the bile duct because the diameter of the duct is only 2-3 mm, which does not meet the relevant requirements. If the stone is in the bile duct, the passage of the lower part of the bile duct into the duodenum is relatively narrow, making it difficult to expel the stone. The treatment of this condition is recommended to be based on surgery, such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy, endoscopic retrograde pancreaticobiliary lithotripsy. Post-operative care should also be provided. Diets should be light, avoiding oily, spicy and other types of food.
