There are six meridians in each of the left and right hands, three yin meridians and three yang meridians. 1. The three yin meridians are the Hand Taiyin Lung Meridian, the Hand Syncopal Pericardium Meridian and the Hand Shao Yin Heart Meridian. The Hand Taiyin Lung Meridian starts from the middle Jiao and runs along the inner front edge of the upper limb to reach the radial side of the thumb, the Hand Syncopal Pericardium Meridian starts from the middle of the chest and runs along the inner side of the upper arm to reach the end of the middle finger, and the Hand Shaoyin Heart Meridian starts from the middle of the heart and then runs along the inner side of the pinky finger to reach the end of the pinky finger. 2. The three Yang meridians are the Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian, the Hand Sun Small Intestine Meridian and the Hand Shaoyang Sanjiao Meridian. The Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian starts at the radial end of the index finger and goes up the outer side of the upper arm to end at the side of the nose, the Hand Sun Small Intestine Meridian starts at the lateral end of the little finger of the hand and then goes along the posterior edge of the outer side of the upper arm to arrive at the lateral end of the eye, whereas the Hand Sun Sanjiao Meridian starts at the end of the ring finger and goes up the outer side of the upper arm to arrive at the lateral end of the eyebrow.
