What is the standard of vision for 8-year-old children

Eight year old children have reached the normal standard of vision, which should be 5.0 or more, but vision varies from age to age. Newborns’ vision is in light perception because of their small eyeballs and short eye axis, which is about 27mm long. As the age continues to increase, the eye axis also gradually becomes longer and the visual acuity also gradually increases. Under normal circumstances, a three-year-old child’s vision can generally reach 4.5-4.7, a four-year-old child’s vision can reach 4.6-4.8, a five-year-old child’s vision can reach 4.7-4.9, and a six-year-old child’s vision should reach 5.0. A fast-developing child’s vision may be better, and a slow-developing child’s vision may be worse. So an eight-year-old child can achieve normal vision of 5.0 or more, and reach the vision of an adult.
