Alzheimer’s disease is characterized by its slow onset and often goes unnoticed in the early stages. Family members mostly think that the patient is a symptom expected of the elderly, and once it is discovered, it has already entered the middle or late stages, so that good early treatment opportunities are lost. Therefore, we should pay special attention to the following early manifestations of Alzheimer’s disease. 1. Memory loss. Especially near memory loss is the most common symptom in the early stage of dementia. 2. Difficulty in completing familiar tasks. It is often found that patients with dementia have difficulty in performing daily household tasks, for example, patients may appear to have disorder in dressing and are not clear about the steps of cooking, etc. 3. Language expression impairment. Patients with dementia often forget simple words or replace them with inappropriate words, as a result, the sentences spoken are incomprehensible and communication with people is impaired. 4. Time and place orientation disorder. They may forget what day of the week it is, get lost even in familiar places, or go out and do not know where they are, what they are doing, or where they are returning to, or even lose track of day and night. 5. Impaired judgment. For example, patients with dementia cannot judge correctly what clothes should be changed in different seasons. 6. Difficulty in abstract thinking. Comprehension or the ability to rationalize things is reduced. 7.Place objects in the wrong place. For example, putting the iron in the refrigerator. 8.A change in mood or behavior. Patients with dementia may have unexplained, rapid emotional ups and downs, appearing extremely unstable, or patients may be more indifferent and numb than before. 9. Personality changes. They become indifferent to their loved ones, suspicious, irritable, depressed, indifferent, agitated or rude, e.g., they suspect that others have stolen something if they cannot find it. 10. Loss of initiative and loss of interest. Patients with dementia may become passive, sit in front of the TV for long hours to pass the time or spend their days drowsy, and have no interest in their previous hobbies.
