What are the Early Symptoms of Pediatric Herpes Pharyngitis?

The early stage of herpetic pharyngitis may be characterized by fever, which may reach 38°C-40°C. After 1-2 days, single or clusters of small herpes may appear in the pharynx and soft palate, with a diameter of about 2 mm, surrounded by a red halo, which rapidly breaks down to form an ulcer, covered by yellowish-white fibrinous secretion. Multiple ulcers may fuse to form a large irregular ulcer. Due to the severe pain, the baby may appear to refuse food, drooling, irritability, often found because of refusal to eat, crying, body temperature often returns to normal after 3-5 days, the disease can reach 1-2 weeks. Affiliated lymph node enlargement and pressure pain can last up to 2-3 weeks. One should keep the mouth clean, drink plenty of water, and generally take slightly cool or cool fluid food, avoiding stimulating food. Topical watermelon cream and tin can be sprayed, and when the pain is severe, 2% lidocaine can be applied locally before meals, and fever can be treated with antipyretics, and systemic antiviral therapy can be performed.
