How to treat keratosis pilaris on both sides of the nose

Perifollicular keratosis, also known as hairy moss, is a chronic follicular keratotic skin disease. The skin in the affected area has a peculiar roughness, and the lesions are pinpoint to grain-sized follicular papules of skin color that do not blend. Perifollicular keratosis on both sides of the nose can be treated with topical medications or oral medications.
No treatment is usually required for this condition. Topical application of 0.05% to 0.1% retinoic acid ointment, 3% to 5% salicylic acid ointment, 10% to 20% urea cream, or 12% ammonium lactate lotion can be used topically to soften or dissolve keratin and improve symptoms. Severe cases can be treated with oral vitamin A, vitamin E or retinoids.
