How long can you live with pancreatitis?

How long can you live with pancreatitis, first of all, depends on what degree of pancreatitis, generally mild to moderate pancreatitis, most of which can be cured, with a mortality rate of less than 1%, and the cure usually does not affect life expectancy. If it is severe pancreatitis, the clinical mortality rate is relatively high and can reach about 15%. Most patients with mild to moderate pancreatitis generally do not require surgical intervention and can be cured by symptomatic treatment and application of drugs that inhibit pancreatic enzymes, which do not affect life expectancy and can lead to long-term survival. Severe pancreatitis generally has a higher mortality rate, especially those with multiple organ dysfunction, which can result in shock, pancreatic encephalopathy, multiple organ failure, etc. The mortality rate can be more than 50%, and even after active treatment, the mortality rate is still high and the prognosis is poor. Therefore, ordinary pancreatitis does not affect life expectancy, and severe pancreatitis can survive for a long time if it can survive the acute phase, but the digestive function is more affected.
