When it comes to psoriasis, you may still be a bit unfamiliar, but if you talk about its other name, you will probably not be unfamiliar with it, that is, “psoriasis”.
But even if you have heard of it in your life, many people may not know it, or may not fully understand this “dermatological big brother”, plus they do not understand the performance of psoriasis early lesions, leading to the development of the disease to the bottom of the serious before they are aware of it, adding a lot of pain and treatment costs. Therefore, in the face of this “big brother”, we still need to know ourselves and our enemy in order to be able to fight a hundred battles. What exactly are the manifestations of psoriasis?
1, the typical “triad of signs” performance
White scales
Psoriasis patients, after the disease, there will be some red patches on the skin, the patches can be covered with silvery white scales, and the scales are relatively easy to scrape off.
Film phenomenon
After the scales are scraped off, a transparent film can be seen. This phenomenon is also a typical symptom of psoriasis patients and is usually called the film phenomenon.
Punctate bleeding
If the film-like material is scraped off, the patient will experience spotty bleeding.
The typical “triad” of symptoms
These are the most typical conditions of psoriasis patients, also known clinically as the “triad of signs” of psoriasis. Patients who find that their skin lesions are more consistent with the above-mentioned contents should be highly suspicious of having psoriasis. If patients are unable to judge for themselves, they can also seek professional medical help in time to clarify whether they are infected with psoriasis.
Of course, in addition to the “triad of signs”, psoriasis has many other special symptoms, which must be mentioned the types of psoriasis. Clinically, psoriasis is divided into different types, and the clinical symptoms of each type are somewhat different.
2.Special symptoms
Psoriasis vulgaris
Psoriasis vulgaris is a more common type of psoriasis clinically, and the main symptoms include the above-mentioned triad of symptoms, namely white scales, film phenomenon and punctate bleeding. Initially, the skin surface is red papules or macules, which later gradually expand or fuse into patches, and are usually found on the elbows and knees, and are often symmetrically distributed.
Arthritic psoriasis
In arthritic psoriasis, in addition to the common symptoms of psoriasis, there are also arthritic lesions, which may appear on any joint, with small joints being more common. Patients often experience joint swelling, pain, limited movement, and, in more severe cases, joint deformity.
Pustular psoriasis
Pustular psoriasis can be clinically divided into generalized pustular psoriasis and limited pustular psoriasis. Patients with generalized pustular psoriasis initially have more lesions on the flexures and folds of the extremities, which may involve the whole body for a long time. On the basis of erythematous skin, most of the pustules of the size of a pinhead to corn appear, and the pustules may fuse with each other to form a large pus lake or become a ring-shaped erythematous plaque.
Patients with limited psoriasis usually have recurrent pustules on the palms of their hands, fingers, soles of their feet and toes, and may also have changes in the shape of their fingernails or toenails, such as cloudy nails, separated nails, or even pus accumulation under the nails.
Patients with pustular psoriasis may also have systemic symptoms, such as high fever, chills and other uncomfortable symptoms, usually of the flaccid fever type.
Erythrodermic psoriasis
Erythrodermic psoriasis is a less common type of psoriasis that can affect the whole body, not only in terms of skin symptoms but also in terms of systemic symptoms such as fever, swollen lymph nodes, and water-electrolyte disturbances. Patients may experience redness and swelling of the skin all over the body, and the lesions are accompanied by a large number of bran-like scales and uncomfortable symptoms such as itching and pain.
Although psoriasis does not pose a serious threat to the patient’s life, it may have some negative impact on the appearance as well as the patient’s psychology because psoriasis patients are usually accompanied by abnormal itching, or other skin lesions. Therefore, it is crucial for patients with psoriasis to seek medical treatment in a positive attitude. Before seeking medical treatment, patients are advised to be prepared, to clarify the consultation department, and to prepare relevant materials.
3.Suggestions for consultation
Consultation department
When psoriasis patients have scaly patches, itching and dry skin, it is recommended to consult the dermatology department of a regular hospital.
Material preparation
If the doctor does not know the patient’s condition for the first time, he or she can bring along the previous medical records and test reports if the patient has undergone relevant examinations before, so that the doctor can obtain the relevant information more quickly and improve the efficiency of diagnosis.
Regardless of the type of disease or the location of the disease, active treatment is a must for all patients. Only by setting the right mindset and putting it into reality with strong execution will you be able to achieve results in your long journey against the disease. Do not believe in street advertisements and self-medicate indiscriminately, which not only wastes unnecessary money but may also lead to aggravation of the disease.
