Dangers of high red blood cells

Mildly high red blood cell count is not harmful, but if the increase is obvious, it is easy to induce increased blood viscosity, blood clots, increased blood pressure and other hazards.
1. Increased blood viscosity: high red blood cell count leads to increased density of red blood cells in the blood, increased friction during blood flow, slow blood flow, and insufficient blood supply to vital organs, such as insufficient blood supply to the brain, which is manifested by dizziness and tinnitus.
2. Thrombosis: If the patient suffers from high blood sugar, high blood fat and other underlying diseases, the increase in the number of red blood cells may induce thrombosis, cerebral thrombosis, myocardial infarction, lower extremity venous thrombosis and so on.
3. Increased blood pressure: The slowing down of blood flow leads to expansion and congestion of blood vessels all over the body, and the corresponding increase in blood volume leads to an increase in cardiac load, resulting in increased blood pressure, and at the same time, cardiovascular diseases such as cardiac insufficiency occur.
Transient increase in the number of red blood cells is a normal phenomenon, but if it is too high, you need to go to the hematology department of the hospital in time for consultation and active treatment.
