Use of potassium permanganate

Potassium permanganate is commonly used in the form of topical tablets, i.e. potassium permanganate tablets for external application. The dosage varies with different dosage forms and different diseases, and the specific dosage should be used under the guidance of a doctor. Potassium permanganate topical tablets can be used for acute eczema or acute dermatitis, as well as for cleaning small ulcers. When this medicine is used in acute eczema and acute dermatitis, it should be prepared into 1:5000 solution (take 1 tablet and add 500 ml of water), moistened with gauze or sterilized cotton wool and applied to the affected area, if there is more exudate, the affected area can be directly immersed into the solution in the bath. When potassium permanganate topical tablets are used to clean small ulcers, they should be prepared into 1:1000 solution (take 1 tablet and add 100 ml of water), and the affected area should be cleaned by dipping cotton swabs or sterilized cotton pads into it. Repeated use of potassium permanganate tablets in high concentrations may cause corrosive burns. Potassium permanganate topical tablets should only be used externally and should not be taken orally. Potassium permanganate tablets for external use are contraindicated in people who are allergic to potassium permanganate tablets, and allergic individuals need to use with caution. The above drugs should be used under the guidance of a doctor, do not use on your own to avoid adverse reactions.
