What to do if your baby has chicken pox

Infants with chickenpox should first pay attention to isolation, and then improve the symptoms through daily care, symptomatic treatment and antiviral therapy.
1. Daily care: chickenpox is caused by varicella-zoster virus infection, is an acute infectious disease, after the diagnosis of chickenpox, we should pay attention to strengthen the management, avoid appearing in public places, in the blisters scabs off before contact isolation. Ventilate more at home to maintain air circulation, avoid scratching the affected area to prevent bacterial infection.
2. Symptomatic treatment: when chickenpox is not broken, if accompanied by itching, you can use topical glycerine lotion to relieve itching; if the blisters are broken, you can use topical antibiotic cream to prevent infection, such as erythromycin ointment, mupirocin ointment and so on; when the child has high fever, you can take ibuprofen suspension, acetaminophen oral solution and other antipyretic treatment.
3. Antiviral treatment: antiviral drugs should be applied as early as possible, usually within 48 hours of the appearance of the rash, the first choice of drugs for acyclovir, if the patient is serious, can be used intravenously acyclovir and other antiviral drugs.
Infants with chickenpox is recommended to go to the hospital in time, under the guidance of the doctor to carry out active treatment, do not unauthorized use of drugs to avoid adverse consequences.
