How long does it take for an epidural hemorrhage to absorb

Epidural bleeding, in general, may take 2-4 weeks to fully absorb. The exact absorption time depends on the source of the epidural bleeding, and the size of the epidural bleeding. If the epidural hemorrhage is from a fracture, the amount of bleeding will not be too great, and it will take about 2 weeks for the hemorrhage to be completely absorbed. If the epidural hemorrhage originates from the middle dural artery, the amount of bleeding is relatively large at this time. If it is more than 30ml, there is a risk of cerebral hernia formation, and craniotomy hematoma removal surgery needs to be considered. If the hematoma volume is less than 30ml, conservative treatment can still be considered. With conservative treatment, it may take up to 4 weeks for the hematoma to be completely absorbed. If the hematoma cannot be completely absorbed in 4 weeks, then the hematoma will need to be surgically removed again.
