Do chromosomes have anything to do with pregnancy?

Chromosomes are associated with pregnancy, and chromosomal abnormalities may be a direct cause of pregnancy and may increase the chances of infertility, miscarriage, and fetal malformations and death. Chromosomes are associated with pregnancy and half of the fetal chromosomes come from the father and half from the mother. Patients with chromosomal abnormalities are much more likely than normal to have spontaneous abortions when they become pregnant. Couples with chromosomal abnormalities may also give birth to healthy babies, but the probability of having a chromosomally abnormal fetus is higher than normal, which can lead to malformations or death of the fetus, in which case an abortion may be necessary. It is recommended that regular prenatal checkups must be done. Different chromosomal abnormalities cause different effects, and timely detection can minimize the effects on the fetus. If serious defects are found in the fetus, the pregnancy needs to be terminated promptly.
