The concept of natural healing in people with hepatitis B virus is called self-healing, and such self-healing exists as a possibility. Self-healing means that the patient is cleared of the hepatitis B virus without much therapeutic intervention and as the body functions. This is often seen clinically, but the rate of self-healing is not very high, especially in chronic hepatitis B carriers. In the acute phase, if properly managed, there is a chance of self-healing. Some patients who are infected with the virus develop antibodies, which is actually the body’s self-healing process. The absence of hepatitis B surface antigen and the production of antibodies is evidence that the process is self-healing, mostly in an acute state. Self-healing of the hepatitis B virus is usually referred to as self-healing in the chronic carrier state, where self-healing is more difficult, but not impossible. With age, the immune status changes, and in the 40-50 years of age period, according to clinical experience and observation, some patients in this age group appear to have a negative surface antigen and a positive surface antibody, or even some patients only have a negative surface antigen, this situation should also be called self-healing.
