Is chronic anemia in children hemolytic anemia

Chronic anemia in children is not necessarily hemolytic anemia. There are many types of anemia in children, the more common ones being iron deficiency anemia, thalassemia, hemolytic anemia, etc. The type of anemia varies from child to child, so it is not possible to determine whether or not a child has hemolytic anemia based solely on his or her anemia. If a child develops hemolytic anemia, he or she may experience weakness, fatigue, headache and vomiting, as well as pallor, hematuria, and in severe cases, shock. If a child is found to have symptoms of anemia, it is recommended that the child be taken to a doctor for prompt medical examination and treatment.
