Method of measuring progesterone

The progesterone test is a blood test. Progesterone is tested more often during pregnancy, mainly in early pregnancy, because the level of progesterone is related to the stability of the fetus and the quality of the fetus. In the early stages of pregnancy, the progesterone test is needed to understand the baby’s condition. This test is done by drawing venous blood and does not require fasting, and eating does not affect the results of the test. If the progesterone result is good and the pregnant woman has no symptoms of pre-eclampsia, 1-2 times during early pregnancy is enough. If the pregnant woman has symptoms of pre-eclampsia or low progesterone and has been taking progesterone supplements, the progesterone needs to be rechecked several times during pregnancy. In addition, women who have irregular menstrual cycles or who have difficulty conceiving also need to have their progesterone checked, and the test should be done together with other hormone levels.
