There is no danger of having low glutamic aminotransferase. Glutamine aminotransferase is mainly stored in the human heart muscle, liver, but also exists in the human skeletal muscle, kidney and other organs, the full name is aspartate aminotransferase, is a relatively important enzyme in the human body, catalyzing a variety of important chemical reactions. Generally speaking, low GATT may be related to insufficient production of the enzyme due to inadequate nutritional intake, such as protein deficiency, or low plasma concentration of the enzyme due to chronic wasting diseases such as inflammation, infection, tumor, etc. It is a normal pathological state and is not life-threatening, and can be recovered by strengthening nutrition and exercising. In contrast to low AST, it is the elevation of AST that is serious. If its elevation is more than 5 to 10 times of the normal value, it suggests that serious damage may occur in the heart muscle, liver and kidney. Diseases such as cirrhosis, hepatotoxicity, liver disease, myocardial infarction, and renal failure can all lead to elevated AST.
