Zor-El syndrome is a gastrinoma, a disease characterized by peptic ulcers and excessive secretion of gastric acid. This disease is related to excessive secretion of gastrin, and most people have gastrin-producing tumors caused by the pancreas or duodenum. When gastrin is increased, gastrin stimulates the cells of the stomach lining, leading not only to long-term inflammation but also to hyperplasia of the lining cells. When the upper gastrointestinal system of the body is exposed to high end conditions for a long time, the protective barrier of the mucosa of the digestive system is damaged and therefore ulcerated surfaces are more likely to develop. The main manifestation of the disease is recurrent and severe abdominal pain, and the disease is difficult to treat, and many people still experience recurrence after being cured.
