Lumbar spine stapling, i.e. internal fixation of lumbar spine with nail rods, may result in lumbar spine stiffness, lumbar spine degeneration and other sequelae after the operation.
1. Lumbar stiffness: Due to the fixation of steel nails, the range of motion of the lumbar spine is limited, thus leading to lumbar stiffness.
2. Degeneration of lumbar vertebrae: After fixation of lumbar vertebrae, both sides of the vertebrae need to bear more pressure, in the long run, it is easy to induce localized vertebral degeneration, such as osteophytes.
In addition, lumbar spine slippage, disc herniation and other sequelae may occur. It is recommended that patients pay attention to lumbar warmth after the operation and stay in bed more often to reduce the pressure on the lumbar spine. Do not do repeated bending movements to avoid affecting the recovery of the nail hole site. If patients feel unwell after the operation, they should go to the hospital in time.
