Difference between frozen shoulder and shoulder arthritis

There are some differences between frozen shoulder and shoulder arthritis in terms of pathogenesis, symptoms and treatment methods.
1. Pathogenesis: Frozen shoulder is aseptic inflammation of soft tissues such as shoulder joint capsule and ligaments due to chronic strain and degeneration. Osteoarthritis, on the other hand, refers to osteoarthritis, which is a chronic injury to the articular cartilage and bones caused by joint degeneration.
2. Symptoms: Frozen shoulder is mainly characterized by shoulder pain and limitation of movement, which is aggravated at night and during sleep, and is characterized by limitation of both active and passive movements of the shoulder joint. Shoulder arthritis is characterized by pain in the shoulder joint, which is alleviated after activities, and limitation of shoulder joint activities in all planes.
3. Treatment: Both are mainly treated with conservative treatment. If conservative treatment is ineffective, frozen shoulder can be treated with arthroscopic release surgery and other treatments. Shoulder arthritis can be treated by arthrocentesis and arthroplasty.
There is a certain difference between frozen shoulder and shoulder arthritis. If there are symptoms such as shoulder pain and activity limitation, you should go to the hospital in time, and the doctor will judge your condition and then provide targeted treatment.
