The other night I watched the long-awaited “Wrestlemania! Dad”, as expected of Aamir Khan’s work, is as interesting and intriguing as his previous movies. We were outraged to see that Gita’s coach had put Dad in a room to keep Gita from winning, which was so mean. Gita was in a losing position because of the absence of her father, the spiritual pillar. As we watched the fierce stalemate on the field, we called out in our hearts, “Dad, come on!” . To our surprise, Dad did not come out even before the end of the game. At the last minute, Gita remembered that when she was a child, her father made her jump into the water and told her, “Daddy can’t come to save you every time, I can only teach you how to fight.” We know that Gita has really grown up. Gita’s wrestling career is actually the journey of our growth. From the beginning of false obedience to powerless rebellion, after experiencing something to begin to identify with, serious to do, but then encountered a second period of rebellion, and finally reached a reconciliation, can leave their parents, to complete their own growth. This is actually the process of our psychological development. But the point I see from this movie is not this, but the issue of home education. I worry that parents will follow the example of wrestling dads and start learning the same training pattern. I worry that it will again cause a wave of ironic training like the wolf dad once did, in order to raise their sons and daughters to become successful. Indeed, the wrestling father has raised two champion daughters, Lang Lang and Jay Chou were also educated under the strong pressure of their parents. However, the wrestling fathers themselves have the ability to wrestle, but they have to give up wrestling because of the social situation in India, but many Chinese parents put their hope on their children because they cannot do it themselves. In addition, the social environment in India is such that women have a low status in society, and they start learning to do housework when they are young, and then marry and have children when they grow up. Wrestling was the only way for Gita to get out of a different life, so she was able to work hard at it after realizing it. The bottom line is that not every child who practices wrestling becomes a champion. Not every kid can make it in the field their parents knocked them out of; everyone has something they’re good at that many just don’t find. This is to mention Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences, he believes that intelligence alone to determine a person is too narrow, human intelligence is diverse rather than single, mainly by language intelligence, mathematical and logical intelligence, spatial intelligence, physical and motor intelligence, musical intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, self-awareness intelligence, natural cognitive intelligence eight components, each person has a different combination of intelligent strengths. People with good verbal intelligence can use verbal or written language effectively to express their thoughts and understand others, and are suitable for careers such as political activists, presenters, lawyers, orators, editors, writers, journalists, and teachers. Mathematical and logical intelligence is the ability to effectively calculate, measure, reason, generalize, classify, and perform complex mathematical operations. They are suitable for careers as scientists, accountants, statisticians, engineers, computer software developers, etc. Spatial intelligence is the ability to accurately perceive visual space and everything around them, and to represent the perceived image in the form of a picture. They are suitable for careers such as interior designers, architects, photographers, painters, pilots, etc. Body-motor intelligence is the ability to use the whole body to express thoughts and emotions, and to use hands deftly to make or manipulate objects. Suitable occupations for them are: athletes, actors, dancers, surgeons, stone masons, mechanics, etc. Musical intelligence is the ability to perceive tones, melodies, rhythms, timbres, etc. with sensitivity. Their suitable occupations are: singers, composers, conductors, music critics, piano tuners, etc. Interpersonal intelligence is the ability to understand and relate well to others. They are suitable for careers such as: politicians, diplomats, leaders, counselors, publicists, salesmen, etc. Self-awareness intelligence is the ability to be self-aware and good at self-awareness and to act appropriately accordingly. They are suitable for careers as: philosophers, politicians, thinkers, psychologists, etc. Natural cognitive intelligence is the ability to observe various things in nature and to debate and classify objects. They are suitable for careers as: astronomers, biologists, geologists, archaeologists, environmental designers, etc. We need to find out what our children are good at to train them in order to get twice the result with half the effort, instead of wishfully imposing our own hobbies on our children, causing parents to hate them and children to lose their happy childhood.
