Calcified foci in the left lobe of the thyroid gland is a kind of imaging description, mostly caused by thyroid nodules. Thyroid nodules can be divided into benign and malignant, therefore, it is necessary to combine with the pathological results to make a judgment, and if it is benign, it can be treated with drugs and radiotherapy; if it is malignant, it is necessary to be treated with surgery, radiotherapy, and drugs. 1. Benign nodules: if the patient has no obvious discomfort, no treatment can be carried out, and regular checkups in the hospital can be done. If the size is large and leads to pressure symptoms such as difficulty in breathing and swallowing, it can be treated by surgery. If thyroid nodules are secondary to hyperthyroidism, surgery may be required. 2. Malignant nodules: If the pathology result is malignant, after the doctor’s evaluation, surgery such as total thyroidectomy and thyroid lobectomy should be chosen. If the patient develops hypothyroidism after surgery, long-term use of levothyroxine is required to maintain normal thyroid hormone levels. Patients are advised to go to the hospital in time, follow the doctor’s instructions to further improve the examination, and actively cooperate with the doctor’s treatment.
