Wisdom tooth inflammation side of the face swelling a few days to reduce the swelling

Most swelling caused by inflammation of the wisdom tooth takes 1-2 weeks to recover. Wisdom tooth inflammation, also known as “wisdom tooth pericoronitis”, refers to the inflammation of the soft tissues around the wisdom tooth, and is a common and frequent disease in dentistry. The main manifestations are pressure pain, redness and swelling of the gingival flap around the wisdom tooth, and there is often pus overflowing from the pericoronal blind pocket, and as the condition worsens, there may be painful eating and throbbing pain, and it extends to the ear, temporomandibular joint and other parts of the body, often accompanied by bad breath, generalized fever, difficulty in opening the mouth, facial swelling and other symptoms. If the symptoms are mild and treated promptly, the swelling can generally improve and subside in 3-5 days; most of them start to relieve in about 1 week and can fully recover in 1-2 weeks. It is recommended to maintain good oral hygiene, avoid overexertion, ensure sufficient sleep, and enhance resistance in general. If the wisdom tooth is inflamed, promptly seek medical examination for appropriate treatment, and if necessary, remove the wisdom tooth as soon as possible.
