Are fundic gland polyps a good thing?

Gastric fundic gland polyps are not a good thing, they are a manifestation of gastric disease. Fundic gland polyp is a common type of gastric polyp, refers to the growth of the gastric fundus body parts, originating in the gastric mucosa layer, protruding from the gastric lumen of the benign elevated lesions, the vast majority of cases patients do not have specific clinical manifestations, a small number of symptomatic patients mainly manifested as abdominal bloating, nausea, vomiting, gastric pain, acid reflux, heartburn and so on. Gastric fundic gland polyps are not contagious, and are associated with Helicobacter pylori infection, heredity, the use of proton pump inhibitors such as omeprazole, bile reflux, chronic inflammation long-term stimulation, functional dyspepsia and other factors. In addition, smoking and long-term poor dietary habits may also induce fundic gland polyps. For patients with a single fundal polyp that has no risk of malignancy or low chance of cancer, the polyp can be removed with regular follow-up; however, if there are multiple fundal polyps and they are large in size, gastroscopic resection can be used to remove the polyps.
