Rehabilitation exercises for upper limb dystonia are useful.
Dystonia is a series of clinical signs and symptoms, such as tremor and dyskinesia, resulting from excessive muscle tension. Through rehabilitation exercises, patients with upper extremity dystonia can relieve muscle spasms and improve movement disorders caused by dystonia. Upper extremity detraction training can be performed to improve a series of symptoms caused by upper extremity dystonia.
The main purpose of manual distraction training is to distract the spastic active muscles. By stretching the active muscles, the symptoms of spasticity can be improved and the muscle tension can be lowered.
Self-distraction training can be assisted by the gravity of the upper body, thus relieving muscle spasm and stiffness and helping the patient to return to normal movement.
It is recommended that patients with high muscle tone in the upper limbs perform rehabilitation exercises under the guidance of a professional physician or rehabilitation therapist.
