Gui Zhi, Paeoniae Alba, and Fructus Psoralea Soup: Treatments

Gui Zhi Going to Paeonia Lactiflora plus Fructus Epiphyllum Soup is used to treat conditions such as Yang Qi deficiency and lack of vitality in the chest Yang, and should be used in accordance with doctor’s instructions. Gui Zhi Go Paeoniae and Fructus Psoralea Soup is composed of Gui Zhi, Ginger, Glycyrrhiza glabra (roasted), Jujubae, and Fructus Psoralea. It has the efficacy of dispelling wind and relieving muscles, warming menstruation and restoring yang. It is used in treating Yang qi deficiency, lack of vitality of chest yang, and concomitant unresolved surface evils, manifesting as palpitation, chest tightness, chest pain, shortness of breath, fear of wind, nasal congestion, runny nose and other symptoms. In this formula, Gui Zhi detoxifies the muscle, regulates Ying and Wei, warms the Yang qi in the chest, and detoxifies the superficial evils; Ginger detoxifies the superficial evils and disperses cold (removes the cold evils in the muscle surface) and warms Yang qi; Pseudostemonopsis warms and strengthens the Yang qi; Glycyrrhiza glabra and Jujubae replenish the middle qi, and harmonize the various medicines (harmonize different Chinese medicinal herbs). This formula is contraindicated in cases of Yin deficiency and internal heat, and in cases of excessive heat. Adverse effects are not clear. It should be used under the guidance of doctor’s diagnosis.
