CK isoenzyme normal values

The normal range for creatine kinase isoenzyme, abbreviated as CK-MB, is 0-24 IU/L. This indicator is most important in clinical practice to diagnose the presence of myocardial infarction in patients and to make a preliminary assessment of the severity of the current myocardial infarction and the area of necrosis. It is important to look at creatine kinase isoenzyme in combination with creatine myokinase as well as troponin. In some patients, there is simply an elevated creatine kinase isoenzyme with normal creatine kinase, which may be a laboratory error, or in people with malignancy, which can also present abnormally. If the patient currently has elevated creatine kinase along with elevated creatine kinase isoenzyme as well as troponin, it is highly considered that the patient currently has acute myocardial ischemic necrosis, possible myocarditis, or acute myocardial infarction.
