This kind of drug mainly plays the role of dilating blood vessels and lowering blood pressure by blocking calcium channels on vascular smooth muscle cells, and it is mainly used in patients with hypertension in old age, simple systolic hypertension with stable angina pectoris, coronary artery, carotid artery atherosclerosis, stroke, and peripheral vascular disease. Although there are no absolute contraindications to the use of nifedipine in the treatment of hypertension, individualized regimens need to be adopted under the supervision of a physician.
