Broken Story Zi refers to Bone-setting Resin. It has the effects of tonifying the kidney and strengthening the yang (tonifying the kidney yang), warming the spleen and stopping diarrhea (relieving diarrhea by warming the spleen), tonifying the qi and calming asthma (astringing the qi to alleviate coughing and wheezing), and eliminating wind and expectorating spots when used externally. It can be used for cold pain in the waist and knees, impotence, spermatorrhea, asthma and coughing with deficiency cold, urination, frequent urination and other diseases. It is the mature fruit of the plant of family Leguminosae, with the effect of tonifying the kidney and strengthening yang, warming the spleen to stop diarrhea, nourishing the qi to calm asthma, and eliminating wind and expectoration for external use. It can be used to treat impotence and spermatorrhea due to kidney yang deficiency (lack of yang qi in the kidneys), frequent urination, cold pain in the waist and knees, asthma, and diarrhea due to deficiency of yang qi in the spleen and kidneys; and externally for treating vitiligo, baldness and other diseases.
