Fetal head MRI, known as Fetal Head MRI, is commonly used to determine if the fetus has a central nervous system disorder or if it has a cranial lesion or intracranial hemorrhage. Fetal head MRI is a special pregnancy test that is not required for all pregnant women, and is only performed after other tests, such as an ultrasound, suggest that the baby may have a head disorder. Fetal cranial MRI can be used to detect fetal paraventricular pseudocysts, fetal dural sinus malformations, fetal asymmetry of the lateral ventricles, fetal cranial ischemia, and fetal malformations of the developing cerebral cortex.
