After pregnancy and abortion, the various reproduction-related hormones in a woman’s body change significantly, which can have an impact on normal menstruation and often take time to return to normal after the procedure.
The abortion procedure can cause some damage to the lining of the uterus and may result in reduced or even amenorrhoea due to cervical and uterine adhesions after the procedure. In a few cases, the pregnancy may be partially retained in the uterine cavity, which may also lead to reduced or abnormal bleeding.
You can observe the patient for a short period of 1 to 2 months after the operation. If the patient has not recovered or has irregular abnormal bleeding, a follow-up visit to the hospital is recommended.
