Can you soak your feet in hot water for 4 days after breaking your foot?

Foot soaking in hot water is generally available 4 days after a broken foot, but if the ankle has been immobilized with a plaster cast or has undergone surgical treatment, foot soaking is not advisable. A broken foot is usually a sprained ankle, which can damage soft tissues and cause localized bleeding, thus causing localized pain, swelling, and subcutaneous ecchymosis. Sprains within 3 days through the ice can inhibit local bleeding, relieve pain and swelling. 3 days after the hot water foot soak or localized hot compresses can promote blood circulation, eliminate edema. If the ankle sprain has been immobilized with a plaster cast or after surgical treatment, generally should not soak the feet. Because the ankle is fixed with plaster to cover the dorsum of the foot, it is inconvenient to soak the feet; and the surgical wound should not touch water within 3~7 days after surgery, otherwise it is easy to cause infection. If the ankle is sprained, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time for early and standardized treatment.
