Cancer deaths in China

In 2022 the National Cancer Center released data from the 2016 China Cancer Report that put the number of cancer deaths in China that year at more than 2.4 million.
China’s National Cancer Center updates its cancer data every year, but usually with a delay of 2 to 5 years. In February 2022, the 2016 China Cancer Data Report was released.
It showed that the number of cancer deaths in China in 2016 was 2,413,500 people. The largest number of deaths was from lung cancer, with nearly 30% of male patients dying from lung cancer.
Among men, lung cancer, liver cancer, stomach cancer, esophageal cancer, and colorectal cancer were the five diseases with the highest mortality rates, accounting for 75.87% of total male deaths.
Among women, the five diseases with the highest mortality rates are lung cancer, stomach cancer, liver cancer, colorectal cancer and breast cancer, which together account for 60.06%.
