How to stop bleeding at home

Patients who have accidentally bruised themselves at home, resulting in localized bleeding, want to stop the bleeding in this case, which needs to be determined by the size of the wound. If the wound is small, you can directly press the bleeding wound with your finger or palm, which will usually stop the bleeding in 1-2 minutes. If possible, use a Band-Aid for pressure dressing. If the wound is large, in this case it is recommended that the patient must find a clean towel, or sterile gauze to cover it and apply pressure by hand to stop the bleeding. At this point, the patient is advised to make sure to visit the hospital in a timely manner to avoid causing any misuse of the incision, which could lead to a later functional limitation. The surgeon will decide how to deal with the situation, and if there is a side injury in the incision, surgery can be performed to repair the side injury. If there is no collateral damage, the incision can be closed directly, and regular review and medication changes must be performed. Tetanus immunoglobulin should be injected intramuscularly immediately to prevent tetanus infection.
