Cerebral infarction clinically known as ischemic stroke, butylphthalide is useful for the second recurrence of the disease.
Butylphthalide is a synthetic racemic n-butylphthalide, this drug can reduce cerebral edema, relieve cerebral energy metabolism and ischemic brain area blood flow and microcirculation, slow down the apoptosis of neuronal cells, and improve the damaged neurological function of acute ischemic stroke patients. Ischemic stroke patients, if there is a second relapse, the use of butylphthalide is also effective.
Side effects of butalbital are rare, with only occasional abnormalities such as nausea, abdominal discomfort, mild transaminase elevation, and psychiatric symptoms. This drug is used with caution in people with impaired liver and kidney function, as well as in people with psychiatric symptoms. This drug is contraindicated in people who are allergic to this drug, as well as in people with severe bleeding symptoms. Since clinical studies on hemorrhagic stroke have not yet begun, it is not recommended for such patients for the time being.
As a prescription drug, butylphthalide must be used in strict compliance with the doctor’s instructions, and changes in aminotransferases should be noted during the use of the drug.
