Amblyopia in one eye and myopia in the other requires general measures, other treatments and other modalities depending on the condition.
1. Amblyopia treatment
General measures: patients need to cooperate with the doctor to wear frame glasses for refractive correction treatment, which can help the recovery of amblyopia in one eye.
Other treatments: The patient should also cooperate with the doctor to adopt masking therapy, i.e., cover the dominant eye, and then slowly stop covering the dominant eye after both eyes’ visual acuity is balanced. In addition, other treatments such as suppression therapy, posterior image therapy and red filter method can also be adopted.
2. Myopia treatment
General measures: patients can wear frame glasses or corneal contact lenses, or keratoplasty lenses under the instruction of doctors.
Surgery: For patients with stable myopia, surgery such as keratoconus or IOL implantation can be considered.
Patients with amblyopia in one eye and myopia in the other are advised to go to the hospital and cooperate with the doctor for active treatment, and at the same time, they need to develop good eye habits.
