The chances of polycystic ovaries ovulating on their own will be low, or 10%. This is because in untreated polycystic ovaries, androgens are persistently elevated, or the ratio between luteinizing hormone and ovulation stimulating hormone is outside the normal range. Due to the abnormal hormone levels, it causes no mature follicles, so there is no way to ovulate on your own at this point, and the chances of getting pregnant are low. After treatment of polycystic ovaries, the ratio between androgens, including ovulation stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone, returns to normal, and you can then prepare for pregnancy for 3 months to see if you are able to get pregnant. However, if you have been pregnant for more than 3 months, or even 4 months, and have not conceived naturally, try to consider ovulation induction therapy. Ovulation stimulation treatment involves taking oral ovulation stimulating medication to help enlarge the follicles, then monitoring the follicles for one cycle, having intercourse with dominant, mature follicles, and then breaking the egg injection, at which point the chances of getting pregnant will be around 60%.
