Time off transfusion for patients with severe aplastic anemia

As a first-line treatment option available for patients with severe remittent disease includes ATG and bone marrow transplantation, I will only talk about the recovery time of ATG treatment here. Patients within 1-2 months from diagnosis to treatment generally have a good prognosis, starting to take effect 1-3 months after ATG administration, with significant recovery after 3 months and complete withdrawal from transfusion after 6 months (of course, the time to withdrawal from transfusion varies from patient to patient, with the shortest case being 7 days after ATG administration and the longest being 1 year before complete withdrawal from transfusion). Patients who have been treated for more than 2-3 months from the time of diagnosis have a relatively poor prognosis, with a full recovery time of 2-6 months at night, and some of them may not eventually be able to get off transfusion, with the proportion being 10-20%. Therefore, the treatment of heavy reoccurrence is about early treatment and preemptive treatment, some patients and even doctors do not understand, what I am saying is that if heavy reoccurrence develops infection and bleeding, it may be fatal, so it makes sense to let patients recover before these conditions occur ah.
